One of the things that you miss out on with using DVD rips instead of the original TV airings is that near the end of the series you would start getting promos for the next show. I always liked that when I originally went through this era; one show is ending, but you start getting teased with the promise of the next one.

Thanks! It feels a little strange getting hyped for the next series before the current one is finished. It's a little like hitting on girls at a college visit before I've broken up with my high school girlfriend. Like, I gotta let the first one end before I can move on, you know?

I always like to think, when stuff like that happens, that maybe the show runner and the actor became friends? Like, maybe Inoue called him and said, "Hey, Ren," because he also calls him Ren, "come in for a day and do this heroic monster voice." Just friends helping friends out.
