This and Ep. 7 have honestly made this show worth it! Up until this point, the show was fun, but the villains felt rather dull and stagnant; more in the line of plot elements than truly threatening characters with a degree of depth. There was definitely some play with Garza before this, but I think this and 7 made him a villain who ultimately finds his own "shine". And the notion of taking of what is billed as an "Enemy Mecha" and making it your own (even though Smog is apparently just a pre-existing, corrupted Mecha) made the Mecha Battle all the more interesting with Garza aboard! Ordinarily, I would've balked at that notion, but it's done so exceptionally well here that it's hard to rag on it too much. The most disappointing aspect was the finisher for King Express, which was weird and uninteresting.

Definitely seeing some obvious ToQger references here, and the idea of using Kyoryuger and ToQger simultaneously is also on display here with a Mini-Train which unites with a Dino Train, which also has a Heisei Riders VS. Showa Riders feel unto itself. The chainsaw on King Express feels like a Dino Force/Kyoryuger Brave reference.

Who does the voices for the Yodon Generals, anyway? There are times when Garza sounds like Beet J. Stag!
