I have build quite a lot in the 4 last years, but always used only the stickers even if I would like to try painting. The problem is that I not quite skilled so I fear to fiind any try horrible at best.
What you say about color seems a good idea, I think you can buy them individually, do you have any reference for those you mentionned ?

Any kit that comes with extra parts, you can practice on those. Gundam kits often re-ruse runners so there are left over parts. I recommend buying a cheap SD kit for $5-10 and practice on that.
I already have some minipla where I thinked to do some try on it when I would find enough ressource to begin doing it myself.

In general, top coat is a good way to protect all model kits and make any toy look better.
Ok good info.

There are a couple of ways to tell what kind of plastic it is

After working with a lot of kits, you can start to tell on your own.
But most important, you should not use Gundam marker on joints or places of stress. There is a specific marker
Gundam Marker GM22 200
that is popular for making joints look metallic- this one can break down plastic if you use too much.
Any porous plastic will break down when any type of paint is introduced. This is where primer and top coats help.
But again, I am only suggesting Gundam paint markers on details and small areas. I do not recommend to use them over large areas (greater than 4cm maybe?) because it won't look as clean as an airbrush.
Is airbrush something hard to do ?
A friend that painted warhammer figurine told me to wash the plastic, to paint it with a special paint (gray, that act like a undercoat), then to repaint it (that means all the figure then)
Is it the way ? or can I paint it directly ?
I already wash plastic before mounting to try to remove oil so the stickers stick a bit longer (don't know if it really helps)
Thanks for your answer !
