What I thought was interesting was that, despite being various amounts of no help, both Tachibana and Hajime at least acknowledge that this kid is going through something. Tachibana wishes he could be of use, but sees what's happening as an internal struggle he can't take part in. Hajime, hilariously, beautifully, gives the most non-Amane compassion he's ever given someone by basically going Holy Shit Are You Screwed Good Luck With All That. It's a weirdly respectful move from him to a dude he's vowed to defeat in combat.

In that instance, it's that what wasn't working felt like a central pillar of Kamen Rider (dudes in masks riding motorcycles), so it elevated my disinterest into a reanalysis of the entire franchise and my feelings for it. It was really that boring!

Overall, yeah, there's bit and pieces that will not work for me, and I'll try and explain why. I just, before Black Fang, I didn't think there was anything that'd make me feel nothing, you know? It felt... it was like I was outside myself, watching someone watch a show I had no feelings about. It was an acute terror, like I'd been stricken blind or something.
