Love the addition of the detective character and his assistant to the cast, they provide great additional perspective and I can't help but be amused at how their way more caricature-ish design (they look like they literally came from Fujiko Fujio manga!) can coexist with Jiro, Mitsuko, and the show's generally gloomy visual tone.

It's definitely an aspect of the show that I feel will make or break alot of people. Personally, I absolutely love the combination, and to me it only serves to further highlight the toku aspects. Let's not forget that Gaim is about breakdancing fruit samurai.

SSSS.Gridman is an absolutely fantastic show. Even coming from someone who's only seen Syber-Squad, they did a great job having alot of callbacks while still doing their own thing. Definitely a show I wanna cover in the future.
