One of my favorite things about the Akirasumu stuff in this episode is how it never disrespects Akira’s viewpoint, even as it chides here for sort-of being an asshole about the situation. This is an episode about recognizing that this whole world isn’t your story, and sometimes you need to take a backseat. Asamu has trudged all over a mountain because he wants to see Hibiki, worrying his mother; putting his life in jeopardy for monster reasons; putting his life in jeopardy for non-monster, being-trapped-on-a-mountain-in-the-dark reasons; and potentially distracting Akira and Ibuki when they’re trying to find a monster. He’s being a
little
selfish here.
It’s nice that the show never really treats Akira’s comments as inaccurate, letting the story be more about her losing her temper than her being cruel. Ibuki calls her out for being too forceful in her criticisms, but he never tells her that she’s out of place in reprimanding Asumu. Hibiki tells Asumu not to beat himself up for a well-intentioned screw-up, but makes it clear he
did
screw up. I much prefer a story about two people who are trying to figure out how to talk to each other, rather than some angry person being cruel to some unfortunate soul. Here, Asumu has it coming, but Akira’s still too aggressive about it.
Oh, you prefer it rather than "angry person being cruel to some unfortunate soul" (which people also can give free pass for 'comedy factor')? Sums up how normal people will do on toku world, which is putting jeopardy in their life for the work of those experienced. And yes, "jerk has a point", rude ones (at least, in debut in this case) can be seriously deficient in the morals/logic department, at least from the point of view of the perspective characters, a moment where they say something undeniably true, others can't deny that they're right without deluding themselves. Cases typically involve the listener conceding the point or a trustworthy source agreeing with the rude. Words from those people is probably the last thing you wanted to hear. But the worst part is that he's right. Still, even if someone like Akira is right, this is taken too the extreme like others and eventually she admits. But unfortunately, others also can give free pass to this kind of foul act, no matter how someone takes it too the extreme just because they're right.

Like Hibiki’s doing by sitting at camp so Ibuki can go fight, Asamu needs to learn when he can do the most good by not being a drain on others. It’s good to be aware of when you can support others, and it’s okay to address their needs instead of your own. It’s that thing on the train again, with Akira in this episode. He was so blinded by what he needed that he never thought about what he was costing others, which is what drove Akira so crazy.
Asumu is the one that wants the support from Hibiki, so yeah, he won't support here, he comes to receive the other's help. But this would be not the right time as they're in work. I guess Hibiki teaching Asumu like this is also another lesson to improve yourself, to also give instead of only take (which is what Asumu did to Hibiki).

. It’s another fun subversion of the typical Kamen Rider formula, with Hibiki deferring to Ibuki’s expertise (he
is
the one who’s supposed to take out flyers) and hanging back at base camp to drink some tea. It allows for a little bit more world building, as Hibiki clarifies things that have been pretty well hinted at.
Well, Hinaka is the foil to Kasumi, she's meant to be the airheaded and cheerful compared to Kasumi's intelligent and serious, it'd be nonsense. And wdym about primary or secondary played out like that? Secondary isn't primary's sidekick that obeys what the primary wants y'know... Ibuki not asking Hibiki's permission and work on their own is something happens in pretty much every Rider series. If Ibuki specializes in taking down flyers as he had a gun, I wonder what Hibiki has in advantage, at least in ground fights.

This show is one where the only thing keeping Asumu from achieving his goal was being too scared to apply himself. I was never really expecting him to not get into Jounan. Could've made for a fun twist if he hadn't though.
Oh sure, I'm just talking about potential risks of this role model mentoring type.
