If by "a little work" you mean all of Takeshi fixing Kiriya's massive psychological and emotional shortcomings... yeah, he's definitely got the drive to be an Oni! And literally nothing else it takes to be an Oni! (Also Akira would probably murder him within his first few days of training!)
