It's not a rumor. Co-writerand producer Phil Lord said that Takuya and Leopardon will appear in spiderverse 2, even going far as to say japanese spiderman "was designed for the sequel".

Considering its already confirmed, it's all but certain that we will see a Hasbro release of Leopardon and japanese spiderman. I really hope they engineer Leopardon like a transformer to keep the gimmick, and that it still keeps most of the original design.
