It's basically a death sentence for any writer, you can't introduce like 20+ years of extra Mythos while also making your show about the current team. Which is hopefully why they'll learn NOT TO KEEP SKIPPING!!!!

I've always believed that these unadapted Sentai could still be used, even if it's in a reduced capacity (no Super/Season 2). Get the main brunt of them and then you won't have dumb issues like this again.

The other side of this is the possibility that an anniversary season convinces Hasbro to lean into that rumor (which I don't fully believe), and does its own thing and ignores Sentai for the foreseeable future. This is something that could and probably should be done, but not at the expense of foregoing the relationship with Toei. Take a break from Sentai if nothing else and lean into original material, then see if adapting a Sentai after that is a good idea.

I do wish Hasbro would bother to retcon the blunder that is Super Megaforce "New Powers"!
