Oh definitely! I think having that contrast between the normal and the fantastic is one of the unique appeals of superhero stories. Having that contrast adds weight and excitement to the inevitable big action scenes, and when you're doing it right, the time spent with all those normal people doing normal things is where a huge amount of the emotional investment comes from.

Naturally, OOO is a great example of doing it right, because it's a great example of how to do most things right.

What I love most about this one is how Takeru is (almost) all conviction all the time, through both the Igarashi plot and the ongoing Specter story. There are still some very, very brief moments of doubt, but overall, you can tell the development he's had is sticking, because he's really not letting things get him down the same way he would've in the first half-dozen episodes.

Yeah, his death is so glossed over he actually gets out of the hospital totally fine a few dozen episodes from now... A benefit of leaving things ambiguous, I suppose!
