The reason for this is... all Sentai from Gorenger through the very beginning of Carranger was shot and mastered on film.

The show moved to shooting in HD video and mastering to HD video with Shinkenger, and has been doing that ever since. Obviously these shows look great, but as a fan of film, there’s just not as much richness and character to the picture.

Huh. That's... interesting, and certainly not in a good way; especially for seasons as celebrated as Carranger, Megaranger and Timeranger. That's a huge shame.

Of SHOUT and Over-Time which would you say had the better subs? I assume SHOUT since you switched over and kept with them?
