See, the thing is, I'm not even asking for the big set-pieces that creatively involve slow-motion rain or debris or whatever anymore. You only need one or two shots in an episode to actively demonstrate time slowing down, and they don't have to be very fancy. Some episodes from around the midpoint were already doing this. From there you can basically do a normal fight scene, but as long as the footage is slightly sped-up in places, and I can hear the associated sound effects, I'd still know I'm watching Kabuto. For me it's not even about the fights being visually impressive as much as it is... I mean, what if Ryuki just stopped fighting in Mirror World for the last 10 episodes, you know?

Admittedly, I think part of the issue is that the show wants to avoid how busted Hyper Clock Up is, hence the Perfect Zecter's awkward introduction where Tendou takes a dare that's apparently still standing to not win fights that way, but nothing about this feels like an ideal solution. I can see plenty of reasons things ended up this way, but it's still sad all the same.
