I will say, though, that the other part of Kageyama is that he is the first to pounce if someone doesn't live up to his expectations. (Obviously, Goro's the best in every show, so Kageyama never fell out of love with him.) If you aren't 100% the person he wants to follow, that's when he's the most dangerous.

I find that mix of Hardcore Sycophant and Pissed-Off Fanboy both pretty clever, and way too realistic.

I mean it’s also possible to read him as someone who has gone mad with power and resents Kagami from giving up this thing he loves while also being afraid of losing his position of power if he welcomes Yagaruma back into Shadow


But this is one of the highlights of this season , all of the characters are fairly nuanced and open for interpretation DESPITE feeling like one note caricatures at first glance
