This is definitely how I saw a hypothetical scene playing out, where Renge gushes to both of them about how great their teamwork is. A well-oiled team utilizes every member appropriately, and that's just how ingrained the partnership has gotten with Kabuto and Gatack. It's actually allowed them both to reach greater heights of their talents, because Kabuto somehow gets more powerful as Gatack gets more injured. I mean, Kabuto got the Hyper Zecter when Gatack died. This is a pretty successful partnership, as long as you don't measure success by both members surviving/being healthy!
