Honestly, I'm not even against Kagami keeping it to himself! In retrospect, he was 100% right to! Tendou definitely would've wanted to kill Tsurugi earlier if he knew!

What I'm against is that, for all the valid reasons the show could've gone with for why Kagami hid the truth from everyone (friendship, hope for rehabilitation, fear of consequences, saving it for Tsurugi's next birthday), they went with none of them. Kagami shrugs his shoulders at why he kept it to himself, and mostly hangs Tsurugi out to dry. That's the part I had a problem with.

That's definitely Tendou's argument, but it's one I don't have a ton of interest in? Narratively, it presumes a level of intent for Tsurugi's actions that just aren't borne out. He's, as a character, created after the death of the original Tsurugi. He doesn't have any memory of the events, and he finds the results so abhorrent he can't live with himself. To basically sentence him to death for something he, technically, never chose to do... it's not justice, it's a death sentence. It's not protecting anyone from anything, it's doling out vengeance. Tendou isn't a hero, he's an executioner.

I mean, I'm not disagreeing with what you're pointing out, but it's something that eliminates so much nuance of the situation, as well as ignoring Tsurugi's pain and humanity, that it's tough for me to view it as anything more than a cop-out.
