You pump a little of each marker onto a small tray then just mix them with a brush. For brown you need 3 colors: yellow, red, and blue. Gundam markers are great but they dry pretty fast so you have to be quick about painting everything.

After you're done with brown, you can add a white paint marker to "Revitalize" the dried up brown and turn it tan, which is also used on Slash.

Gundam markers are essentially composed of two materials - the pigment/color and an alcohol based retarder. This is why its important to always shake them up well before using. When you apply the paint, the retarder evaporates and leaves the pigment. This also means you can add more marker paint to dried up paint to mostly get it going again.
