I think Hana prefers the uncomplicated narrative of Destroy All Imagin, so accidentally convincing Kintaros to try and wreck time would lead to less anxiety for her. It's bad enough she has to deal with Momo and Ura, who are able to be coerced into saving people. But an Imagin that chooses to save someone
of their own volition?
That probably stresses Hana out!

I just like that there's a purely Good Imagin in the cast? Momo is all over the place, but Ura veered a little far into Unlikeable territory, so I like Kintaros being a decent monster to rebalance things.

I think the training we're seeing is just physical therapy. Houjou still had whatever mystery ailment he had in the original timeline, but now Kikuchi is helping him get better so they can finish their match. It's an episode that hits on some points about letting a rival help you improve as a person (like with Hana and Kintaros), so that's just the button to that storyline.
