I have a soft spot for that dramatic sort of ballad, and the heartfelt-staring-into-the-sun-teat-in-the-eye sort of moment such evokes. I won't, of course, tell you to watch Hibiki if you have no inclination to do so, as I think it's something you have to approach on your own terms, being a very different animal to other shows of its ilk. I will, however, look into the aforementioned sun with a tear in my eye, and tell you that I love it.
