Re-watching episode #2 of Stronger when it turned up on youtube a while back, I have been haunted by the scene of Jo's operation and what we can see of the mechanisation of his body during the procedure.

You know, I've taken apart a fair few amount of Walkmans from the '90s, and I know that those rubber bands used around wheel mechanisms degrade over time. I'm worried that maybe Jo Shigeru is sitting around somewhere unable to move like Tik-Tok from Return to Oz because the rubber band inside him has snapped.
