DVDs ARE still a thing, and I'm not saying that they aren't. Cheap DVDs are all over Target and Walmart still. However, they're a reduced thing; a cheaper alternative which remains for reasons which will slowly fade with time. Most who buy a Season Set these days are going to want as much bang for the buck as they can get, so they'll likely choose the higher quality version with intent on saving up for it. The impact of the DVD format isn't as impactful as it once was and they won't last much longer as a viable money-making format. The consumers who want DVDs on the Market aren't going to outvoice the consumers who want Blu-Ray and Streaming, for better or worse.
