Oh yeah, that whole story! It's always so crazy to me thinking that Marvel was kinda lurking around in the shadows of these last couple shows, and I wish it were better documented than it seems to be. I really love the idea that Stan was trying so hard to get all these exciting live-action superhero shows made, to very infrequent success (he's even straight up badmouthed the domestic Spider-man show we got, and Stan Lee loved to shill anything with Marvel's name on it, natch), and then looked over at Japan and realized they pump exactly what he was looking for out left and right. (He was much happier with Toei's attempt at a Spider-man series, natch.)
