it's just not getting to the place of Final Sacrifice for me. Like, Kin opting to stay behind to hold off the Moles so that Ryotaro can rescue his sister,
even if there's a better solution
, that's completely a Kintaros move. But there's just something about it that pales in comparison to Kin's first story, and him going into the past to save Honjou. That story felt tragically heroic, and this one had me thinking You Will Just Jump On Any Grenade. It didn't feel like a heroic choice, it felt like an
expedient
choice, and the show's inability to separate the two is where they lost me.

Fair! That is a contradictory expectation. I guess there's a difference between the limited information a character has (like Ryutaros) and the more detailed information the viewer has, and it makes it difficult for me to see how any viewer would think Ura has been working them for a year. Luckily, the show tips its hand quick enough for it to not really be a big deal.
