Caught up to episode 2.

Like what Reiei mentioned, it's interesting to see how oddly "chill" the everyone is about the sudden appearance of the Kaiju and the damage being caused during the battles. I assume it might be because the show's "other shoe" hasn't dropped yet, and there's possibly something going on that the characters already know about but we as the audience don't. Although, this idea mostly stems from the fact that every time a character says "Kaiju" it's in italics rather than just a simple capitalization.

Other than that, I didn't see anyone else mention this, but I found it interesting that all the protags aside from Gauma have someone either dead/gone from their life:
Yume's sister died.
Yomogi's dad is straight up never talked about.
Koyomi and Chise briefly talk about there being a memorial they apparently need to attend next week (in episode 1).

Admittedly, this is rather basic level analysis, especially when the very premise for this show's SSSS is "Scarred Souls Shine like Stars", but it still felt important to point out.
