If they are literally always discounted, then I'd call it the base price. RKFs are the same way. Even Amazon JP still has almost every FRS available for less than 2500 yen.

I don't know why you feel the need to argue, regardless. My point still stands that none of these releases are really marked up by much, and that 40 USD in the states is as good of a deal as it gets, unless you get lucky and find an American retailer that has something on clearance.
