Ignore that gatekeeping shit, too, it's your birthday, you aren't out there like "What about the straights" or anything lame, you party it up as much as you want for your birthday. Just know that its a very small part that'd actually believe you aren't allowed to have anything this month, and most of us wouldn't be like that. You're good to go.

Of course taking a month for yourself can also be pretty nice. Do what makes you happy, it ain't hurting anyone.
