And the massive destruction of the world does seem like the sort of precursor to a multiversal threat.

Tsukasa agrees to save

very
heroic!

Yeah, this and Gaim... I mean, they're doing different things? Nominally, they're both foreshadowing an epic final battle, but Gaim's is full of characters you haven't met yet. It's an intro that's about inevitability and tragedy: you're going to love these new Riders, and then they're going to try to murder each other for power.
Decade's intro is
sort of
that, with Decade being some apocalyptic figure, but it's really more about characters you already have an investment in getting slaughtered. It's not really about the mystery, it's about the stakes: this is an event bigger than all nine series put together.

Oh, that was just a joke about Tsukasa's attitude in general. I've seen enough later Decade content to know that he's Not Here To Make Friends, so I thought it'd be funny if the show went the opposite way.

Yeah, normally I like the quieter parts better, but it's way too early in the series for those types of things to land. For a first episode, I'm okay with some bombast to help sell the world and the conflicts. Decade does that really well, I thought!

The Decade Net Movies!
There are so many Decade Net Movies!
I might legitimately have to take a vacation day to watch them all. Good lord.

From the suit to the color scheme and the setup of episode 1 this was such a wild card I did not know what to expect and was awestruck that the 10th Heisei rider was one that could transform into previous riders. Keep in mind, this was pre-Gokaiger times and that gimmick alone was some next level stuff.
It's still pretty cool? The fact that he form changes into both Kabuto
and
Faiz in the first episode is thrilling even after watching a dozen Legend Rider films. Something about seeing the Decadriver on the Faiz suit... very cool! I love that Figure-rise worked to have that gimmick carry over to the Heisei model kits.

And thanks Die for sparing so much time to host this big project! It must be a lot of work and preparation for something like this.
I'm happy to do it! And, yeah, Zatyme killed it, right? I learned a lot on this episode, and they helped make that possible.
