For me, Onodera was my Kuuga. I got to watch Kuuga proper later after this, but for the most part, everytime I saw Kuuga, I always associate him with Onodera.

He's very much undermined and plays Decade's second but I still like him still. And I wish they would have just Ryouta Murai for Kuuga's future appearances if they couldn't get Odagiri anyway.

Edit: Whereas Odagiri is the Kuuga that trains for his powers, I like the neat idea of a Kuuga who got rushed and had to try and get around that

It's a thing the Decade episodes don't really come out and say, but judging by the Grongi numbers, Onodera's unlocked all four base Kuuga forms in maybe two weeks? That's pretty goddamn impressive!

I did like Onodera by the end of this one. I still don't think I've fully taken to the actor (Is it the Climax Deka residual anger? Is it that I really hate his haircut?), but I found the resolution to his origin story very sweet. I also... man, I love that they didn't do the Kuuga thumbs-up just to do it? That hand gesture means something (easily in the Top 5 of Kamen Rider hand gestures), and I like that they're holding off on it.

In conclusion, what is up with Onodera's hair. Thank you.
