EDIT: To be fair, Build isn't exactly the only show to feature riders getting new powers/forms by defeating monsters. The purification aspect sounds quite Build-esque though.

I honestly kind of like the idea of riders getting new forms/powers by doing this like in Blade/Build(before Build had to be Build and drop EVERYTHING GOOD ABOUT IT after a 3rd of the way through)
