Also, it's such an odd set-up and with Natsumi being put on murder played for comedy, I did have to check if Inoue wrote it. He did not.

If only! But, yeah, this story was great about throwing in as many surface elements as they could, since it feels like they couldn't figure out a way to tell this story on a thematic or emotional level. Like, they got some of it (I really think the Tsukasa/Onodera arc for these two episodes Gets Ryuki in a way that almost nothing else in this story does), but a lot of it just ends up being surface pleasures. Fun, but inconsequential.
