I don't know if you can answer this, but I still wonder about my question before for the potential fixing, one of the problem seems to be about bringing up Yuu's mother while she was never seen, would it be not refering to her mother then in this part (so it'd be more like usual adult and kid bonding)? I know execution matters in these kind of questions but still wanna know, the difference for something like Amane and Hajime in Blade was about how Amane's father was shown before in Hajime's flashback? Also dunno about Toki having a death wish, she only states about her situation where she can die at anytime due to the constant war at her village (which is very true as she's a vulnerable normal human?) and actually wanting a safe peaceful village and starting a family?
