I'm not sure where I heard it from first, but most of Vice's quips are improvisations from the voice actor instead of being written into the script, and... man, I haven't been able to stop thinking about that because it really really shows. 90% of it is just plain unfunny and desperate and reaching Power Rangers levels of "we can't shut up for two seconds or else kids will turn off", and it's honestly a little distracting? Like, in this episode I actually had a bit of trouble following what was going on because Vice's interjections really made it so there was just too much happening at once.

Which is a shame, because otherwise a fantastic episode! Really starting to see the strengths of both this writer and what the actors do with this material; it's clear what such an infusion of fresh blood from a completely different section of media can do for a franchise. A lot of Revice feels familiar but at the same time communicated in a way that's distinct from most Rider seasons I've watched in the past, and with this little mini-arc of Ikki becoming Revice over I'm really excited to see what developments come next. Really fun show!
