Lol, Makoto hogging the spotlight is probably the reason why he's actually the secondary Rider . Alain is probably considered as the most well written and more impactful, but that'd still a subjective stuff, even if most thinks like that. Characters just can.. have different reaction from the audience from what the creator intended. Like in many cases the main characters are just considered less good than side characters, like if it's inherent thing.

Yeah, there are those who'd dislike Ghost due to employing lighthearted traits making it bad, which that one I wouldn't agree at all; it's a misguided take of seeing only dark as good. I'd want for Ghost to keep its usual theme (Alain being considered written well is a part of that theme too), but the execution (would you think of Kuuga as lighthearted; only among the human cast?), and disagree on the "catering to the masses" solution... including if the lighthearted solution is to make everyone over the top (well, Onari already is) like Fourze or such.
