I agree it would be very cool to delve in to all the Japanese folklore and legendary creatures, like Hibiki's Makamou. I think it should be authentic like Kakuranger with a lot of opportunity to explore the dramatic and romantic ninja lifestyle.

I guess if anything happens to "spring" & "fall", "summer" & "winter" absorb them, acquiring their powers as they evolve.

Hope you got a good set of yokai for the riders' forms.

That goes for kaijin for the riders to fight.

I also added a new rider in the mix. Unlike the ninjas, the new rider is an assassin and a thief inspired by Assassin's Creed & Sly Cooper. Have the rider based on a Tanuki like Rioichi Cooper.

I need help finding good motifs for the riders. That goes for the dark rider to be like Goseiger's Brajira, who betrays one villainous group to another until he's the final boss as he takes over the dark ninja clan. However, as he betrays one group, one of them he gains a female supporter in his cause as he offers them a place in his clan in his conquest to conquer or destroy the world.

Maybe I should add a revenant/ghost ninja rider in the mix too. Like Scorpion & Noob Saibot.

And remember Ninja Scroll & Rurouni Kenshin? The protagonist will be like Kenshin who has two personalities: his kind yet bumbling one who hides his hidden potential and the other which is a serious yet killing type. As for the dark rider (if he ends up the final antagonist), he oughta be someone who reincarnates like Himuro Genma who was slain by Jubei until reincarnates to get revenge.

Female rider? Give her motifs based on flowers like cherry blossoms, roses, tulips, violets, etc.
