(Bat Dopant's actress would go on to play Alain's sister in Ghost, which isn't super relevant to anything, but she looked so familiar in this movie that I had to pause it to go look up why.)

I mean, I'm not gonna sit here and claim that Inoue nails the themes of the movie spinoffs he writes, but I think I can see an OOO story in there. It's missing a lot of the prime story movers (the Greeed aren't really part of it, and Ankh's stitched in later), but a story where Eiji's kind simplicity becomes a lifeline to someone overcome by their obsessions... feels pretty OOO to me?
