Found a very distressing 2006 book which frames Star Wars in a unsavory light with its many albeit critical and near-uniform indictments: Finding The Force of the Star Wars Franchise: Fans, Merchandise, & Critics!

It seems to include numerous "essays" by multiple people, with chapters dedicated to the implied eugenics & racism as well as another chapter on the so-called "myth of redemptive violence" and whether the Force itself is representative of violence in general.

It's particularly damning, but it's a somewhat skewed interpretation. One friend called it "ancient clickbait".

The authors also seem to have published ultra-critical books prior to this one on superheroes, given the references on the book jacket...long before the MCU was scorn to similar criticisms!
