Well, nail polish remover has acetone, which weakens plastic, and since clear plastic is already quite fragile due to clear plastic already having been weakened to achieve the clear look, acetone can cause clear plastic to crack. It can also melt and eat through most plastic. Its the same stuff that helps the bonding process in plastic cement.

Instead of that stuff i recommend 70% isopropyl alcohol. The Gundam markers are alcohol based, and Bandai hobby sells a gundam marker eraser, but its a scam. Its just 70% isopropyl alcohol in overpriced pen form. You'd be better off just buying a bottle from your local drug store and using cotton swabs lightly soaked in the alcohol to remove the paint.
