Finished this early today, and I think overall I slightly prefer Gridman between the two; its mostly down to the overall story. I liked Gridman's being about redeeming Akane and her waking up, it overall felt like a more complete story; while Dynazenon feels like only half a story. There is so much in Dynazenon that feels unresolved, and with the crossover being the next chapter that is probably on purpose. That said, I do like the story and themes that are explored here, its just Gridman's feeling like its more wrapped up as a story is what gives it just a bit of a boost for me.

That said, I do mostly like the cast better here, they all feel a bit more 'fully realized' which kinda makes sense in hindsight that the Gridman characters are a bit simpler with them being either creations of Akane or fragments of Gridman; while here we have "real" people.

I do like Dynazenon design better overall, but then I always prefered 'Drago' to Zenon in SSSS; so maybe it's not surprising that I prefer his successor as well. So much so that I hunted down that Moderoid kit (As its the only affordable combining toy I can find); and looking forward to the Gridknight one as well. Though I do hope we get one for Gridman and Powered Zenon in the future.
