I think the thing that makes it especially weird is that, for a concept this ludicrous, you'd usually apply it to a supporting cast member. A story where the hero is like I'm Going To Try Being A Henchman For The Week -- regardless of the motivation -- is maybe something you'd do with a Kagami from Kabuto, or a Mutsuki from Blade. It's not normally the sort of story you run your title character through?

...because you normally make your title character the head villain, not the henchman.
