I almost mentioned this in my last post but while Build borrows a lot of design from W, it's still more different than these rumours are from Build, most notably:

• W has electric gimmick items, Build does not
  
• W had a no electronics belt, Build's belt has electronics
  
• The concepts for W's gimmick items follow a different pattern than build's (i.e. "Luna Trigger" would not work as a Build form thematically)

I'd say function wise the Gamer Driver from Ex-Aid is a lot closer to the W driver, but they're still quite different thematically (again as an example "Luna" would not work as a Gashat theme)

But if the Wolf Axe rumours for Geats and the assumptions made about the 8-item set of Candy Toys are true then it would be much much more similar to Build than Build is to W, since it would be:

• Geats and Build both use two non-electronic gimmick items
  
• Geats and Build both have electronic belts (presumably if the gimmick items are non-electric the belt will be electric)
  
• Geats and Build gimmick items are both themed after using one living thing and one non living thing

I just can't think of another gimmick line that's quite so similar to a previous one... Like in reference to my previous examples this one would feel weird to me because "Wolf Axe" could just be a Build form and no one would bat an eye, it matches the theme pattern so it feels weird.

The only other ones I can think of that're close are W and Ex-aid... And honestlh even OOO and Saber (non electric belt peice the holds gimmick item, electric piece that scans gimmicks with nfc, 3 gimmick items) but in that case the set up for the belts is very different, the theming pattern is different (you wouldn't have a Wonder Ride Book just called "grasshopper" or an OOO medal called "King of Arthur"), and the gimmick items do have sounds for saber while there's no lights or sound for OOO

Like even in shows that can have something in common... Like... OOO, Build, and Revice are all shows that could have (and I believe do have) a Gorilla gimmick item. In this case the belts all function very differently from each other, as do the gimmick items, so it's not so 1:1 as what rumours are saying for Geats

And again I'm not saying they wouldn't differentiate them, I'm just saying it feels like if these rumours are accurate it would just be more similar than usual, with multiple elements lining up, rather than just like one similarity, and while that does make it's legitimacy feel a little more doubtful to me... it's definitely not impossible that they'd just copy an old gimmick line almost completely... Toei and Bandai like money, if they think doing something like build again will make money, then sure, they might do that

EDIT: I also want to clarify, even if they do wind up having ridiculously similar gimmick themes and function, I do have a level of trust in bandai's toy designs that they will manage to make them feel different enough to feel like a new toy line; it's very possible the gimmick items as toys will do something very different from fullbottles, and that'll make them feel more different even if the theming is weirdly similar.

Also I'm sure Geats would be able to have it's own identity as a show.

Overall, how similar the gimmick line is to build doesn't need to affect the quality of the toys or the show, I'll just find it sort of funny if they're as similar as rumours are making it out to be
