Sure, you have adaptations of shows, like how Brooklyn Nine-Nine was adapted for French-speaking Canada. But they still bothered to film everything themselves.

And yeah, you can call me a Sentai snob, purist, elitist, whatever. That doesn't change what power rangers is at its core. To paraphrase a quote from a movie from 2012: "It's a cost-cutting measure; everything special about it came out of Japan."



TL;DR: I'll only see PR as a real franchise once it stops using Sentai footage, unlike now where it's just a "best of Super Sentai" with dubs.

I have no beef with Sentai purists. Based on my observations on this forum, there are a lot of people here who don't seem to care about PR, but most of them are just like, "I don't like PR, it's not for me", which is fine. To each their own.

However, you claiming it's not a "real franchise" sounds like gatekeeping to me, implying that people who enjoy PR are somehow wrong, or like Storious from Kamen Rider Saber believing anything derivative and unoriginal has to be inherently worthless. If people learn and change by watching PR, then that alone justifies its existence.
