That's become very evident with the block of episodes that I just got done with, as it's so unfortunate that only Red and Gold are allowed to use Super Modes now.

But, yeah! Just finished up season one and am a couple episodes into season 2. If anyone wants my current impression of the show, so far I think it's... okay. Nothing incredible, but nothing really outstanding either, which is kind of a shame given that this is the first season that is 100% Hasbro's'.

When it comes to specific episodes, episode 19 was such a wasted opportunity. Isn't it like, a law of TV/movie writing that if you're gonna have body swapping as a plot that you need to have the characters get into wacky hijinks? Instead it all takes a backseat to Pop-pop going on a date. And like, yeah, that was really sweet and all, but it made the body swapping aspect feel really arbitrary.

And then there's episode 21, the season finale. Hoo boy I did NOT like this one at all! Normally I find Ollie to be kind of a prick, but man, this episode did a complete role reversal on that one. Yeah, how dare Ollie not want to put his mother in mortal danger, right? And then when it turns out he's actually right about what'd go down, the moral is "Well we gave her the option and she said yes, and we saved her eventually, ergo nothing bad happened!" Just... what?? I friggen lost it when part of the ending has Ollie apologizing to everyone else about the situation. Just, no, screw that.

Ontop of that there's the way that the Morphin' Masters come in to restore everyone's' powers at the end, which just robs any and all agency and makes the entire experience feel incredibly cheap. This episode actually had me rooting for Void Knight, because not only does he have a sympathetic goal, but him succeeding would've made for a far more interesting plot development. Granted, he ends up winning a few episodes later anyway(the episode I left off at), but still. Would've been a good shake-up to the status quo.

The Christmas special was nice and sweet as they usually are. Surprisingly less clip-showy than what we've been getting since the Neo-Saban Era, and having Javi and Solon(my two favorites so far) be the focal points was a good plus.

The only other episode I really wanna talk about is episode 26(S2: E4), wherein I'm not exactly sure I jive with the moral? The Zord that's the subject of the episode is for all intents and purposes a pet, and I didn't really like how Aiyon's' bond with it was totally undermined by Ollie's' cold logic. I feel like a much better angle to go at would've been to find a balance: Have the moral be knowing when to use your head and when to use your heart.

That all aside, the villains are still great. Loving the main trio of Void Knight, Mucus, and Slither especially. Much better villains than what we've gotten over the past few seasons, I think(and I like most of those villains!).
