After everything Gai's done to destroy Grampa Hiden's legacy, I think it's fair to assume that Gai mostly just wanted to piss all over his former idol. Aruto's making a reasonable assumption when he looks at Gai burning down everything Hiden Intelligence stood for. Gai's a complicated dude!

Gai showing up to help... like, some of that is still Gai being a self-absorbed prick who needs to be the center of attention at all times. I think there's a step towards redemption, but he's not suddenly a good person. I like that choice from the show?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the sexual harassment charge is just Yua being like It Is Not My Job To Be This Guy's Wingwoman and reporting him to HR. But, no, not exactly a joking matter for a kids show, you're right.
