Putting aside the whole issue of localisation, the only Power Rangers stuff I had previously watched before people recommended I read the comics was Lost Galaxy and, please don't laugh, Wild Force. With both of these shows I immediately fell in love with the aspects of them that did not reflect the source material, even those that may seem a little goofy—there are horses on the moon, you guys!—and, whilst I may needlessly be echoing others here, I think it's wrong to write off Power Rangers for not telling the same story as sentai.

As you say, I think you need to tell "the whole story," but it's good to appreciate the different kind of stories you can tell for different audiences. I know that no one here really needs me to wade in like this because of my poor pedigree, but I'd argue that any 1:1 adaptation in any medium is going to be a tough sell, and that maybe Power Rangers is at its best when it is free to tell a different kind of story. In fact, it's pretty wild, but remember the Dekaranger/Magiranger era when PR was actively influencing sentai? I attribute most of that to Sakamoto (begrudgingly), but how fun was that? How great was it to see these new ideas suddenly pop up in sentai? I'd like to see more of that; in fact, as someone who never watched the show Dino Fury is based on, I can't help but feel that there are certain things in this present iteration of PR that I would like to see influence sentai in future.

This is getting overly long and others have said this better than me, so tl;dr different kind of stories can be fun! If something catches your eye, don't miss out! It's okay to take a break, but let's be excited for creativity!
