That definitely is possible, but is way too neat and tidy and probably not likely based on the author?s past works. Also the Crane Juuto seems to have moved on.

I think the big problem for kijino was that Miho was a fantasy created specifically for him. You think his job was a dead end? I think she was a dead end for him. I think back to that episode where he became a successful jerk and she ended up in the hospital telling him something like, ?I like it better when you are pathetic.? (?I like it more when you are failing a little? is how it was translated.) Now, clearly Kijino was acting like a jerk, and needed to be put in his place and humbled, but she specifically liked that he was a loser.

Anyway, you can?t be that codependent! Kijino needs to work on himself a bit and miho definitely was not ?good? for him. Dude turned into a monster twice based off his weird dependecy on her.

Edit: What is happening to Kijino definitely is cruel and unfair and sucks, but he has a lot of issues that need to be worked on for him to have a happy ending, imo. A very complex and rich character. I like that they show the dude still has problems even after they kill the hitotsuki possessing him. I think he would be better off with a “real” woman that he could have a less toxically dependent relationship with.
