At least that's exactly what happened at Amazon. In general, changing enemy generals is a normal practice for many tokusatsu shows, as constant failure deprives the villain auri of threat. Plus, in some cases this serves as an excuse to change the tone of the show, change individual details, take into account the wishes of the audience, in a word. But sometimes it turns out to be a bad decision.
