I'm sorry, but this is going to be a long post (added that when I saw the lenght of it)

My introduction to Power Rangers was MMPR.

I have fond memories of the series and I even had the comics of the time (even a Zeo comics where compliance machines went crazy, that was funny.)
I think I still have my Green Ranger comics somewhere and in good shape.


But let's be honest, it was a product of its time and by the time I grew older, there are some stuff that make my eyes roll, notably the humor with Bulk and Skull. I prefer what we got later on when they became cops and less of a joke.

Also, you can't help but think that they did a lot of clever editing for the time and I can still see this.
When I was a kid, I didn't care about the Green Ranger having a weird Dragon Shield instead of the Zyuranger one.
Now, as an adult, when I see this I find it funny.

But MMPR, to me, became less thrilling when Jason, Kat and Trini left.
I like Zack, I think he had and still has a lot of charisma but my Black Ranger was Adam Park to me.

I remember when I stopped watching Power Rangers, it was when Time Force was airing and that it then was bought by Disney.
I tried, I really tried but didn't like the Disney formula, I liked some episodes centered around Tommy and he wasn't even my favorite Ranger.

Then I came back to PR with Beast Morphers.
Seeing a sort of Goldar come back was actually fun, seeing Jason was also fun.
The characters were pretty likeable...but damn...I hated that comic duo, it was just...just so out of touch, just bad.

One thing that impressed me with Beast Morphers is that you had to start looking for japanese footage and you could find it because of the difference in the quality of the footage. The narrative was also good but I was clearly not a fan of the 2 seasons. I prefer when it's one big stuff like the japanese series, where you see a shift in tone with notably the Christmas episode.

Talking about Christmas episodes...I was a little bit weary about Dino Fury because of all the surrounding controversies and all, the buzz just to do the buzz. I gave it a shot and I like it.
And to me they are doing things right, and that Christmas episode in season 1 WAS the shift in tone that we have in japanese series.

Then here is my honest opinion on Dino Fury, to me, it's definitely the right direction they should go for.
Now the jokes are actually midly funny, and it's not tied to only two characters Even though yeah...J-Borg and Jane could be considered that, but they toned it done.

I actually had a laugh with the episode where Ollie gets his streak of bad luck at the end of said episode. And I know it's silly.

I'm still currently watching Dino Fury, and despite some stuff being a bit kiddy (like the Finders Keepers stuff), like the morals they make, it's not made to be too kiddy, it can have meanings for us adults too.

Japanese footage are near undistinguishable from the rest and I'm often wondering what's what (the Zords footages don't count though, these ones are obvious)
I was curious enough to watch the first Ryusoulger episode and I was surprised to not like it. There's no nuance, things are too comedic, or overly dramatic.
I was also surprised to see that the very first two antagonists you see are...hu the equivalent of Boomtower and Mucus.

Talking about Mucus, I'm surprised to like a monster character that much that I would like a figure of it x)

I also like that they brought back Zedd, I'm in the episode where Void King appeared so I don't know much about Zedd's involvement in the rest of the Dino Fury season but when I saw him come back, I was thrilled because to me it meant that MMPR would come back.

I plan to watch Once and Always tonight and honestly, I don't mind the choice of the characters, I don't know what motivate them apart from the new Yellow Ranger but I suppose there's an in universe explanation as to why it's Kat coming back and not Kimberly.
And as much as I loved Kimberly at the time...I don't mind seeing Kat at all.

Once and Always, to me, is like going full circle and seeing a 55 minutes MMPR episodes with current technologies is what I was hoping for.

It was a rocky road after Time Force but...
The Power Rangers series while staying true to its legacy and its roots has beautiful evolved.
