I don't think this is a situation Ikki and Sakura could've done differently? They tried talking to Daiji about their plan earlier in the episode, and he basically calls them both naive fools who are going to make everything worse and also he's smarter than both of them -- is this a guy you're going to keep looped in on your plan against his new boss? Daiji fully opts out of teaming up with them at the beginning of the episode, and while this is all pretty incriminating against his siblings at the climax, we're not exactly in a story where key details have been withheld; Daiji is not on their side for this battle!
