the t-rex become the red dragon and the pterodactyl becoming the pink phoenix are the only 2 that makes sense. as we have a triceratops becoming a unicorn and a sabertooth tiger becoming a griffin and lets not even get into the black mastodon becoming a green lion

season 3 wile they got new powers that matched the new zords the suits did not change to reflect this and still had the dino themed suites and a tiger. and the tiger uses a bird

With season 2 and Dairanger mechs the Ranger were still assigned their personal Zords so it was easier to follow and tell which character is which. Cosmic Fury had too many Zords and very few Rangers and they would pick their Zords at random even if it doesn't match their colors.
