A good end to the first half of the show (thematically, not episode-wise). It’s great that they explained why Geryon needs exactly the Hotaro driver: he is the most pumped of all. Although it would be much easier to make your own and fight with your own Malgams, it is obvious that for Geryon’s type this would be unbearably boring. Also for this reason, he is doomed to lose, because one of the main ideas of the show is: “What is important is what you get through your own labor.” I also liked that there was something for everyone to do, although Kyoko and Lachesis could have taken more active roles. The Platinum Gotchard looks almost like the final form and also fits thematically since platinum is more expensive than gold. I also really like the difference between Crosshopper and Tenliner. One was transformed by Hotaro through suffering and exceeding his capabilities, the other by the trust and support of other Chemies. This once again emphasizes the duality of power of our main rider, shown back in the first episode at the verification stage.
The monstrous hand that took Geryon is something out of Lovecraft. I just really hope the final villain isn't the creature from behind the Door of Darkness.
The announcement teases a yokai story and the return of Kajiki. I wonder if this is a filler breather or a disguised start to the next arc?
