As we head into the thick of Spring, it occurs to me that there are several anniversaries this year.

From a Pop Culture standpoint, it's a banner year. 40 years ago in 1984, the world was introduced to The Terminator and Nightmare on Elm Street and even Transformers. Spock returned in Star Trek and Frasier Crane was introduced in Cheers. And that's just for starters!

1984 was also a unique year for tokusatsu. Dynaman ended, but Bioman began, with Shaider and Machineman thrown in for good measure. Godzilla returned to the big screen, and the Ultraman Story retconned Taro's backstory. Even Kamen Rider made a brief resurgence with the introduction of Rider #10 ZX!

Can't forget other years like 1994 or 2004 or 2014, which saw Kakuranger and Dekaranger and ToQger respectively.
